ATEP Funding and Management

The Alaska Tsunami Education Program was funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The Education Office at the Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska Fairbanks developed the program and curriculum, and tested and supervised the review and revision process. Scientists from the Geophysical Institute and the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center, local teachers, community members, and tribal Elders contributed their expertise, stories and feedback during the design phase of the program.
